I started Martial arts at the age of 6. Firstly in Karate, and was then introduced to Jujitsu by a friend. After studying Jujitsu for 7 years I gained my black belt under the watchful eye of some of the world's highest graded martial artists. Once I had gained my black belt I went on to study several other martial arts including Kickboxing, Ninjitsu, Judo and Kung Fu, whilst continuing my training in jujitsu and also studying various other styles that jujitsu had to offer.
At the age of 16 I gained my 1st Dan Black Belt in Jujitsu, at the age of 18 I was awarded my 2nd Dan Black Belt by Soke Richard Morris 9th Dan, also at the age of 18 I started my first jujitsu club named Kirby Ju-Jitsu Club and after six years I changed the name to Essex Freestyle Jujitsu School. I had this club for 12 years when one of my students took over the running of the club in 2010. During the running of the club I was graded a further 2 times by Soke Richard Morris, my 3rd Dan in 2000 and my 4th Dan in 2003. Whilst grading for my 4th Dan I was awarded the teaching title of Renshi. Since leaving my club I have still studied martial arts and trained with various other instructors, I have spent my time putting together a more realistic and up to date training syllabus.
I have also studied various weapons throughout my martial arts career including: - Nunchuku, Jo Staff, Tonfa and Escrima stick fighting.
